Concealed Carry: CHL/CCW

Sometime back, perhaps as much as a year ago, several members; myself amongst them; suggested that a dedicated CCW/CHL topic was appropriate. Most Forums have a specific place for those of us with interests in CCW/CHL and there seemed to be sufficient enthusiasm for the idea.
I seem to recall that the official response was a generalized agreement with a comment that it would be considered. Well, I would like to suggest that it be reconsidered.
Those of us that carry regularly and those who intend to start operate under different circumstances and have different needs and interests from sport shooters and I, respectfully, suggest that implimenting a site for us to share our experience and ideas would benefit this Forum.
How about it?

I think that it is a good idea and should be considered again too. I also like the idea of a C&R forum. Of course, expanding the forums is an issue that must be carefully considered by the staff.
Thanks for bringing it up again! :)

Going to disagree. I don't like the idea. I don't think we should fragment ourselves into smaller groups.
I carry, and in a couple of months I will be certified to teach my state's CCW class. I'm also a competition shooter, gun enthusiast, sometime hunter, and once in awhile I do some gun related business. I think most of us are this way. We are more than just CCW holders.
Hardware questions about CCW go into the handgun forums. Legal question in L&P. Holsters, put it in accesories. Training, mental aspect? Put it in strategies and tactics.
CCW people shouldn't get our own forum, because we aren't any more special than anybody else.

Bravo! A man after my own heart.
Then lets drop the separate Revolvers and Auto Pistol Forums because they are both handguns and we can integrate that. Blackpowder isn't unique and they can be absorbed into Hanguns and Rifles. Why waste space with separate Forums to sell Rifles, Handguns and accessories? They're all gun stuff and they're all for sale. Hey, everything here is about firearms; let's just dump it all in one big pile and let the devil take the hindmost?
Your argument is weak. The ultimate success of a forum is by accomodating the legitimate needs and interests of the patrons.
The diversity of topics on this Forum illustrates that specific interests have been acknowledged and accomodated. An absolute refusal in the face of seconded requests suggests that your personal interests alone should form the basis of Forum topical content.
Why not put up a poll and see what the Members support?

And your argument is reductio ad absurdum. Correia disagreed with your proposal. It's that simple. Why disagree with his disagreement by proposing an absurd structure, even in pseudo-jest? We will consider the proposal from all angles and will either institute it or not. Either way, THR will not be lessened in any large degree.

Where do you put a thread on CCW holsters in accessories or the proposed CCW section?
Ditto for the rest . . . .
As a consultant who designs interfaces, the real question becomes, how is this board used by most of the users?
Do you go right to new posts? search? go the revolver section only?
In a business application, the answer to that would go a long way to dictating how the information would be presented.
