I recently saw two Emerson knives for sale at a gun show.

They both appeared to be the same model, but one had a 4 digit serial number on its blade (just under the thumb stud), while the other Emerson knife did not.

Is the Emerson knife with the 4 digit serial number on the blade a "limited edition", and the one without the serial number on the blade is a "regular production" model?

Has does this 4 digit serial number on the Emerson blade affect the knife's value?
