Just wondering how much other people shoot in a year. With my competition
and shooting every month at a club shoot, and practice, I shoot around
1,000 shots a year. Don't know if this is a lot or not, but it's what I shoot.

Each month from March to October I shoot 3 or 4 montly and an annual/state/regional SASS match. Also shoot 6-8 Steel Challenge matches during the year. With the matches and some practice, I go through 1200 - 1500 C&B rounds; same amount of BP 44-40, a couple hundred BP 45-70 and about 500 - 600 BP shotgun rounds. Steel Challenge is usually .22 Auto; but have been known to use a Glock on occasion. Go through a couple bricks of 22s a year as well as a few hundred rounds in other calibers either plinking, practicing, or in competition

I shoot less than 1,000 rounds a year, not by choice. Full time school, part time job, wife and six year old. Not as much time left over after all that. When I'm done with school, I expect that number to go up considerably.

April to November, every day. After that its too cold. Also brass is hard to find in the snow and that drives me crazy. No indoor ranges around here.

It used to be at least 1000 rounds a year, now it's only about 300~400.

I shoot around once or twice a month, weather permitting & 90% of it is Black Powder.
I go through on average of about 90 rounds in one of my C&B Revolvers & about 30 - 40 rounds through one of my rifles per session, so about 1500 - 2500 in a year.

Let me work this out....

Outdoor shooting season starts in March. I shoot every weekend, about 60 rounds. Figure one N-SSA Skirmish/month, I'll go through 120 rounds at one of those...that works out to 300 rounds/month for 8 months, plus ~120 for November. An average of 60/month for Dec-Feb. A total of ~2,700 rounds.

Not counting air pistol. I'm averaging ~80 rounds/week with that (need to step that up, too). Roughly 3,500 pellets/year.

Just BP competitions I shoot roughly 3000-4000 rounds depending on how many I am able to attend. With practice, easily 4000. BP shooting alone, depending on events, low side 4000, high side 6000.

IF You throw in the smokeless, pressing 10,000 or better. Averaged 6 bricks of 22 caliber RF before the shortage. Cheaper and easier to clean up than BP and you don't get nasty looks in the closed in range. 2 cases, 9mm and 2 of 38 special a year. Might need to reload a few of the cases I am stockpiling. Getting into my stockpile now.

I also shoot a variety of other rifles. Burn through a lot of 7.62 X 39.

I belong to a Muzzle Club and we have two shoots a month. I shoot in shotgun, CVA SXS 12, pistol and rifle. I'm retired so in the good weather. I may shoot 3 or more times a week.
I also shoot modern guns. 40cal XD and 40cal High Point carbine. Combined about 800rd. Bush Master 223 about 500rd. 223s are to expensive to shoot.
Went through about 1,000 22s.
I know in BP I have been making balls every week. 440, 490, 457 and 454.
Can't say for sure.......but I'm not getting better. I have a lot of fun. Ex specially BP.:D
I forgot shotgun every Thursday. SXS 12 gauge coach and SXS 12 CVA BP shotgun. Any where from 25 to 50 shots.

I have absolutely no idea. A lot more in the summer than the winter, but it can vary from less than 10 to more than 300 on any given day. I'm going to guess about 4,000 a year but that could be off by a factor of two either way.

I'm just getting back into BP so that's very low for now. With the 30 cal rifles I do 4 to 5K a year. But I'm retired and cast my own, so I shoot a lot more now then I did when I was working and buying bullets. That's one of the few good things about being over the hill. :D

When I do go out, I usually shoot about a hundred rounds of various calibers. That's black powder. I do like to shoot my more modern guns and take my Krag out once or about four times a year. I also shoot trap about six times a year.

Pistol Competition- 5 matches a month x about 75 rounds=375x12=4500yr
Pistol practice- 2 time a month x 200 rounds=400x10months=4000yr
223/ar matches/3-gun- 1 a month x 30=30x10 months=300yr?, bought/shot 600 rds last year.
12ga/3-gun/practice- 1 a month x 25=25x10months=250yr

13050? not counting .22 pistol and rifle practice, maybe 1500yr?
All pistol ammo reloaded on a Lee Classic turret. All other ammo factory.

10,850 Wow, I should shoot much better than I do!
