I'm thinking of buying a couple of spare cylinders for my 1858 Remington navies as long as they are Pietta cylinders what do you think my chances of those fitting and working okay are?
I was thinking Cabela's any place else recommended?

Just read the reviews, only person that didn't like them tried to fit them on a authentic 1858 Remington. All the Pietta owners 5 stars.
So I ordered a pair. Next will be my review of them.

Hey, bought two cylinders from Cabela's a few years ago, for a Remmy 1858, Both had issues, sent them back. The next two still did not work, Cabela's said try a gunsmith. Went to gunsmith, gunsmith said no charge! I would buy spares from Cabela's again, minor problem, timing?

I have 2 spares for my Lil Cannon "Pietta NMA .44 caliber" that I got from Cabelas & both fit perfectly with no issues.

I bought a Pietta 58 from Cabelas about a year ago, and got 2 spare Pietta cylinders at the same time. Both fit and worked great. No issues at all.

Likewise, my spare cylinder for my Pietta 58 is from Cabela's and it worked fine.

Piettas spares work great for Piettas...you'd be surprised how many times I've seen guys at the range cussing ''that darned spare cylinder I bought from Cabela's!'' into an Uberti... twice now I've bought those ''darned'' cylinders, once for $20.00, and once for $25.00 on the spot.My buddy still has those and the .44 NMA's he bought from me when I got my matched set of .36 Remmies.

I have obtained spares for Pietta and for Uberti. The only problem I've ever had was for a Uberti .36 Navy 1861. All the Pietta (from Cabela's) have been OK.

I got two spare cylinders when I bought my pistol, Pietta pistol, Pietta cylinders. I have to look for the proof mark to figure out which one came with the pistol. I try to rotate them to even out the wear and tear, but I usually shoot all three of them twice, anyway.

I have two spares for my Pietta 58, fit is perfect, no problems. Just be sure of the manufacturer and you should be fine.

I brought a pair from DGW that they had listed as Uberti for my 58 Remington and they work flawlessly. No proof making on them, so not sure who they are made by.

Mr. TomADC..There's no problem here. If you own a '58 Pietta New Model .44 for instance then just order a cylinder MADE BY PIETTA for the gun and it will drop right in and work good. Same thing with your nipples. I have several sets of spare nipples and several extra cylinders and I'vd never had any problems. Just don't go to trying and stick a Pietta part on a Uberti gun or a Uberti part on a Pietta gun and you will be just fine. Sometimes the parts will interchange with no problem and sometimes they won't. I have never tried to mix up the parts and I have never had a problem in all these years so I must be doing something right. PLUS, if you want to enjoy many many years of trouble free shooting and want to have a piece close to hand that you KNOW you can depend on then stay away from all this after market bulls***....

Spare cylinders came in last night I test fit them this morning, perfect fit hard to tell them from the ones that came with the Remingtons. Very happy.
Used a borelight to check alignment looks great to me, going to shoot them next week.
