nobel sport shot sizes

I just got some nobel sport hunting shells. The boxes say #4 and #6 on them but the shells say .10 inch and .12 inch. Are these shells really size #5 and #7? Is the 4 and 6 italian sizing?

Yep!

.010" is American #7 and English #6.
.012" is American #5 and English #4.
