One fellow at the gun show today had a lot of primers, mostly Federals, some CCI. $34.99. Better than it has been for a while. Things may be settling down.

I did well. Three guns were calling my name, and I walked out without them. It was tough. Some things were overpriced, but some prices were pretty good. Again, better than it has been. That old Witness in .45 is still dancing in my head. :)

My dealer/friend got in an order for 100,000 Federal Small Pistol Primers that he ordered a year ago. He got notification earlier this week that another order is on it's way, so yes, they're starting to show up. His vendor told him they were filling orders in the order they came in, so the backlog was 11+ months.....

Hope this helps.

PS: Get the Witness .45, Walkalong. I have a couple of them and you'll like them, especially after you get the conversion kits for .38 Super and 10mm........

Three or four months ago, primers at the gun shows out west were about $34 per thousand.

Last month they dropped to $32 for Win and CCI, and just $29 for Wolf. But they didn't have all sizes.

This is nearly twice what I paid when I last stocked up. But if the price settles anywhere under $30, I think I can still live with it.

They had them. I thought about getting some, as I am under 1K of them, but then I don't use a lot of LR primers. I'll wait a little, and hope they come down some more.

I was at my local Cabela's today and they had stocked shelves, powder and primers. Nice to see.

It's either live with it or sell all the guns and take up knitting.

I think you're right, things might be loosening up a bit. A local shop got in 10,000 SP, SR and LR primers the other day. The Federal SR primers were priced at $29.95/1000 and the CCI SP primers were $28.95/1000. The Remington LR primers were a little higher @ $32.95/1000. Now, when the prices get back to under $19.95/1000 I'll be a little happier.

At our last local gun show in November, there were plenty of primers and vendors had "pallets" of Winchester ($29) and Wolf ($26) in most sizes (mostly LP and SP). In comparison, in the spring 09 gun show, there were less than 20K of Winchester for the whole show at $35.

Most of us reloaders (myself included) are stocked for several years of primers. I heard from vendors that many large resellers "sucked" up the market inventory the past year to sell at the gun shows at higher prices in addition to reloaders buying up for stock piling. I think stock piling by reloaders is slowly easing up. I think it's back to supply vs demand as Obama panic scare has died down.

Overall, I do think that things are loosening up.

Same around here. I recently got 10k WLP for $30/K at local gun show. Also my local gander mountain has decent amount of powder and CCI primers. However, Gander is always expensive and currently is charging $50/K for LP/SP.

I have had good luck lately with Powder Valley. Wolf Large Pistol=$25.50K-CCI-500-SP=$27.00. If I volume order, to spread out the $22.00 HazMat, it seems a pretty fair price?? Have some on order through Grafs, but they have a 6-8 month back order time??:D

I've had A LOT of primers on order from Graf's for one year. I gets a couple of cases every now-and-then and when I beg they usually find a case of something close.

Good folks though...

Primers, N320 and Varget are available locally for the first time in a long time. Primers are 39.99, but they are there.

My local shop is getting another order in the end of the week, this time powder. (probably Friday) He's getting Bullseye, Unique, 2400, W231, W296, Trail Boss and a few different IMR rifle powders. He is also getting is some Varget believe it or not!! I'm going to grab a few lbs of Varget, IMR4064 and some H335 if he gets that powder in.

Maybe things are loosening up a bit, first primers last week and now some powder too.

No Vit n320 in San Antonio that I can find. I did find n310 @$27.50/lb.

Last month I got 5K Fed spp from a Graf backorder. I hit Midway for another 3K due to a 'heads up' from "armoredman" on the CZ forum.

NOW, I'm having trouble finding 'available' bullets!!
