I'm getting a set of Novak adjustable night sights for my Kimber 1911. the current rear sight is held in place by an allen screw and the replacement appears to do the same. What about the front sight? Can I use a brass drift punch to remove it? Secure the new one? Or, make a trip to see my local gunsmith?

If you use a brass drift on a night sight you will destroy it. You must use a sight pusher or some other type of constant pressure tool.
