I have a Winchester 9422 lever action .. the striker pin is broken and have a new one to put into the (hammer block),
it's the piece that the hammer hits.. it rests inside of the block that slides back to cock the hammer back .. not sure what the name of the part is but there is a retaining pin that needs to be pressed out. 1/16 th in dia. it will not budge./ I had it in the oven for a short bit and tried to knock it out with a cold punch. No avail ..
any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

How are you supporting the bolt when pounding on it?

You need a solid and reasonably heavy steel bench block of some sort to support the bolt so all the energy from the punch can be transmited to the pin, not just move the bolt.
A block of wood or your knee is not gonna do it.

You need a stiff "starter" punch to get it moveing.
A hardware store nail-set punch is really good for this, as it is tapered with a cup tip, and will not break off or bend like a 1/16" pin punch.

Drive out left to right.

Once you get it started moving with the nail set, the small pin punch should finish it.

BTW: I would not suggest baking the bolt any further, as it is unlikely to help, and can be harmful to the heat treated steel if you get it too hot.
