Very nice. Quick sidebar: I had one of the weirdest things happen to me while bowhunting the first week of the year this year. Being still. Bluejay is curious; hops all around, and lands on a tree limb about 3.5 FEET from my face. So far, nothing out of the ordinary. But then I turn my head and stare directly at him. Ordinarily, all creatures immediately bolt from movement, or from seeing eyes. This little fellow saw both, and just stayed there a little over a yard away and stared back, while making his calls loudly. Really dumb one, this guy - could have swatted him down with a tennis racket. He stared back a good minute or two before flying off. Just one of those tidbits that happen every now and again that make you go hmmmm.

Had a hawk this year light on a limb in front of me and start ducking and swaying his head side to side. It was kinda cool, closest I've been to a perched wild one.
I'm kind of amazed that the fox there in Ohio doesn't have more of a pelt on him.

Cool.
Okay, my story.
Last September, during the blackpowder season, I was set up for the sunset hour and waiting quietly to hear the hooves of any elk herd descending the hillside. I was standing there, in the quiet, when I heard the rapid thumping of running feet, coming right for me. It only lasted a couple seconds, they closed in on me fast and I didn't have any time at all to get ready.
Only six feet from me, out of the brush jumps this hare, throttling downhill for its life. Right behind him, maybe ten feet or so, comes a red fox just like the one you photoed. They were both at full speed and flew right by me without stopping or even noticing me. Wow! It pumped me up a little bit when it happened, but it all went quiet as quick as it had started.
About 10-15 minutes later, I hear it all again. They come uphill, and right by me once again, but this time closer by. The rabbit bolts up past me and the fox is a little further behind and pops out right behind me, so it has to divert around my feet which gets its attention. It winds around me, and stops about ten feet away and looks at me, realizing what I am. It then looks around to resume the chase.
I wanted so bad to communicate to it, which way the hare went.

I dont know much about them, there habits or area they run in...i ussually see 1 fox a year and assuming it is the only one in the area, i have seen this one 3 times this year.
