I'm contemplating the purchase of a CZ 75 .22 Kadet as a plinker/fun pistol. As a matter of fact, CZs in general look almost too good to be real. Are they just a well kept secret or are they not so good? Any opinions will be appreciated. I also have my eye on the .45, I think it's a model 97? Come to think of it, I like several of their pistols!

The CZs are generally underrated. They are in the same class as SIGs or berettas as far as reliability and accuracy are concerned, and they are very sturdy. They are not quite as well-finished as a SIG, but that can be overlooked when you get the same level of performance for hundreds of dollars less.

In my opinion, they are very underrated. My favorite is the CZ83.
Great trigger, very accurate, over 2k rounds and not one failure. I have
not shot the Kadet but based on my past experience with CZ I wouldn't
hesitate.

Not as well kept as they used to be, their prices are slowly creeping up from "Breaking even" to "Making a slight margin".

About 5 years ago I could get a new in the box CZ-97B with the poly finish for $455, now the best I can talk them down to is about $530. CZ has really worked on the reputation and customer service and it shows.

I have the Kadet conversion for my 9mm CZ 75. Wonderful purchase. It's just like the stand-alone Kadet gun, but you get the 9mm/40 cal as well. If you get the Kadet gun, you can't buy the slide for the larger caliber seperately. And you'll want the larger caliber after you shoot the .22, trust me.

I shoot my CZ75BD with the Kadet Kit much more often than the 9mm because I have a few other 9s I like to shoot. I would strongly suggest getting the 9mm or .40 and adding the Kadet kit since you can't add the other way. Depending on what you want look at the 75BD (decocker), 85 combat, regular B or the single action in either caliber.

My CZ out of the box was more accurate than a brand new BHP, I got the Kadet kit for the CZ with money to spare.

I did some minor mods to my Kadet last week as per instructions on the CZ forum. I put another 1,200 rounds through it over the last 3 days. It's a kick.

I "was" not a 9mm fan. Years ago I sold my Browning HP in favor of the "ole Reliable 1911 45acp". Recently, I was in a gun shop and noticed a great deal on a CZ75BD. It was "used", but after a close inspection, I could find no evidence that it hand been shot or handled. The CZ and a cheap box of 9mm ammo came home with me. First time out to the range was amazing. Depsite my familiarity with the 1911 single-action trigger, I found the DA/SA trigger very controllable. Although I didn't "accuracy test" the firearm. At 15yards usinig the USPSA/IPSC "shoot too fast" method, I kept about a 3" group the first time out. I barely shoot better with my competition gun at that range and speed of letting off rounds. Very impressive! The CZ97B is on my wish list too. Someday I will add it to the new CZ collection. Limited in experience with the CZ, but first impressions have been great!

CZ's in general are very moderately priced, very well made guns. Some are as accurate outa the box as my STI was....very very accurate. Dependable, great ergonomics, easy to shoot well.

I shot 1/2 of an IPSC match this morning with my PCR and it ran better than some of the 2000$ race guns in the open class. It never does anything but impress me and everyone who shoots it.

Its also my 12th CZ...if that tells you anything. My advice is get one, shoot it, tell it bed time stories and youll never NEED another gun.

Ditto on the idea of getting the 9mm and a Kadet upper for it as being the best way to go.

Word is that the Czech Republic is going to join the EU in 2004. If you want a CZ of any kind, you're probably going to be better off getting one before that happens. If part of the deal is to switch to the Euro Dollar, that's going to make the prices go up.

I have the Kadet Kit and use it on both my CZ-75B and PCR. It fits both and works great. I HIGHLY recommend them.

Another happy CZ-75 owner here with a Kadet. It's a great gun in both 9mm and .22LR.

My buddy's got the 75 Compact, and he recently purchased the Kadet kit for it. Both work reliably and are scary accurate PERIOD, no matter what price range. Factory trigger could use some work, tho, IMHO. Otherwise, a darn good gun. I'd get one, but I'm really happy with my BHP.

With some rare exceptions I think you'll find that most folks that have CZ's are thrilled with them.

CZ-75B with Kadet is a good idea.

I have the CZ-75B, now I just need the Kadet kit.
