I recently purchased a couple of boxes of Fiocchi .223 55gn ammunition. What is the quality of the brass compared to other brass, ie Remington, Winchester.

I don't handload .223, but Fiocchi's .38 and .45 brass is as good as any other.

I have bought a bunch of fiocchi .223, I typically get 5-6 reloads on the case and it fails as a neck split when FL resizing. No case head seperation on any yet. Middle of the road loads using IMR4064 and Reloder 15.

I've bought nearly a case of Fiocci 223 loaded with 50 grain Vmax and it shoots most excellent! (<1 MOA.

I noticed that the flash hole is noticably off center, resulting in twice my primer punch pin sticking in the case requiring manual extraction. I have yet to break a pin, BUT decided it wasn't worth destroying my equipment to reload it.

It does shoot very well in my Bushmaster varminter (AR) and is the most accurate factory load for me.

I'd love to hear if it's just the lot I bought that is off center or what!?!?!?

my loads are much hotter with fiocchi brass. I can only use them for med power loads. Nothing really dangerous, primers are just flattened and more felt recoil in my AR. Thier factory loads works great in .45, .223, .44mag. 223 brass is the only one with problems.
