My super x mod 1 fails to chamber 2nd shot. The shell comes out of the magazine tube and thats all. If I push the shell ever so slightly rearward it chambers. Is this due to a weak magazine spring? Thank you in advance!

If you don't mind, what type of shells are you using? Does it do it with every brand you have tried? Is it a new problem? Is the gun new?

I was using Federal 2 3/4" max load 2 shot. Gun is not new though it is new to me. However, I have no idea its history. This may have been an existing problem. I bought it at a yard sale from the widow of the previous owner.

I'm no shotgun guru, but I would make sure it is clean, lubed, and assembled properly first. It kind of does sound like a spring issue to me though, but I doubt it is honestly.

Hopefully more knowledgeable guys will chime in.
