ANy opinions on the Royal Ordinance 30rd AR mags? What about the SA 80 mags? What about the
Labelle Industries 30 rd mags over at ammoman.com? Saw some at a gun show and was just curious. Thansks Tim

I picked up a couple of the SA80 mags from Dillion. They work well in my Bushmaster.

Those are all good magazines. Royal Ordanace/SA 80 mags might need a green follower though.
Mag questions look here (http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=17&t=163158) and here (http://magfaq.tripod.com/)

Forgot to mention I have 15 of the SA 80 mags and love them after a follower tune up.

Peet, maybe you have older SA80 and Royal Ord mags; all the ones I have have an updated follower....it's black.

I have two dozen of them. All but one seem to run fine (right out of the box). I figured they would make a good practice magazine. When doing speed reloads, I kind of cringe at dropping my USGI mags even though I have done it thousands of times. I decided to reserve my USGI mags for formal training and use my British SA80 mags for practice. I have no complaints.

The SA80 mags out there now should have the anti-tilt followers installed. As stated above, they are black not green. Some of my mags were a little compressed on the sides so I had to stick a dowel inside the mag body and open them up a tad.

I have 10 of the steel SA80 mags from Ammoman. I haven't had a problem with mine. Excellent range mags. I usually take two down to the range with me and keep loading them up with the LULA. One of the reasons why I like to have the SA80 mags is that the rest of my mags are the NIW Teflon Labelle 30-rd mags that Ammoman has also been selling.

Unlike those who live in more reasonable jurisdictions, I live in NY, so even if the Federal AWB expires next year, I'm still stuck with the identical Pataki Ban for NYS. :banghead: That means, all my mags from here on to eternity (or for as long as the Pataki Ban lasts and I live in in NYS), have to be '94 & prior.

The SA80 mags allow me to hold on to and preserve a stock of excellent USGI AR mags, because I can put the steel SA80 mags through the wear and tear of cycles that would have otherwise consumed my excellent & "prized" Labelle Teflon mags.

You can't go wrong having both types of magazines on hand.

Nope there not old or diffrent. Mine are black and of the same design as the green followers. The only diffrence I have found is the SA80 followers are about a millimeter longer then the USGI green followers. My mags as well as many other people had feed problems unless the mag was downloaded by 2.
