Anyone have any info on these guns? A local shop has one for 150.00.

new/used?
I thought about getting one, but the fact my face is behind alum reciver scares me. I went with 870 solid steel It feels like a tank in front of my face. I do not want it blowing up someday on my face It is a bit more for the solid steel but my feel safer

How exactly would it blow up? The shell ignites inside the chamber, part of the barrel, not in the reciever

The 88 is a good shotgun.
Aluminum receivers simply hold steel parts in contact. If they can handle the pressures of 5.56mm NATO, why should they be dangerous 40K PSI less in 12 gauges?

The Mav 88 is a great shotgun. Just the lower priced Mossberg 500 is all. Less of the fine details that run up the price. It's a perfect starter gun if you've never used a pump before, it'll last forever and it won't let you down. All the Mossy 500 parts including barrels are interchangeable except the forearm furniture....and even that is if you add a $25 part.
$150 is a great price if it's new. If it's been around, well, that's still a pretty decent price.
