my Remington .22 magnum semi auto rifle does not reset the trigger after each shot? I have no idea how to fix it. Does anyone know what i need to do to fix this problem?

Depending what rifle you actually have, there is a little tab that fits into a notch in the bolt when the bolt is completely closed.

its a remington 597 magnum. probably 5 out of the 8 rounds in the mag fire ok. its always the first 2 or 3 at the top of the mag that the trigger doesnt reset. the gun is probably about a year old. ????

Make sure the bolt closes completely after each shot.
Check the section on the bolt bottom that bears against the cartridge rim; if that area is rough the rim may be slowing the bolt down and prventing it from going into battery.
And, of course, make sure the gun is reasonably clean.
