That was a great read!

How'd he turn birdshot into slugs? Did I miss that? That one had me curious. I mean, I know how I would, but that fellow is ingenious!

I have followed a long running set of threads from this African Gentleman on another board, and it has been a great read. What great ingenuity. Proof of the old adage "Necessity is the mother of invention."

How'd he turn birdshot into slugs?

There is a technique called "ringing a shell". Google it. I've done it, won't recommend it, but it did work. I was a kid. I survived childhood, believe it or not. :D

I tried to find the article but I couldn't seem to locate it.
Basically he took the birdshot out and poured it into a mold with a bolt in the center in order to create hollow point slugs.
