You have come to the right place! :D

I've tagged twenty-some bucks with my .243. I've ruined a few coyotes, as well.

Federal now loads what I've used since the early 1970s: The Sierra 85-grain HPBT. On deer, I restrict myself to neck shots and cross-body heart/lung shots. I pretty much doubt that the bullet will penetrate to the heart lungs on a quartering shot, particularly from the rear. Might; might not. So, why take a chance?

But that bullet wil spread coyote over a half an acre.

The Hornady 95 gr. SST

3185 fps at the muzzle. A hunting partner has taken several Nebraska whitetails with his Colt Sauer in .243 with this load. He absolutely DUSTED a yote on this years trip. That coyote looked like he swallowed a grenade.

I'd say stick with what works on the deer and maybe use a softpoint for the dogs.

+1 for the 100gr Rem core-lokt. Good bullet for deer and it flattens coyotes.

go for the deer load as your priority. the sst and corelokt mentioned are good as a federal classics (blue box ) in 100 gr soft point

I agree with interlock if it will take a deer it will take a coyote. I don't know if it comes in a factory load but the 95gr hornady sst interlock is explosive on small game and still holds together on deer sized game.
