Match primers are supposed to be very consistent. When a manufacturer tests the sample from a batch and the sample falls within their specifications for a match primer, that batch is boxed as match primers.

Currently I can buy Federal small pistol match primers locally for the same price as CCI regular small pistol primers.

Thanks for the reply. I went to the local fun store today & they had just as you described.
According to the the tags on the shelf the Federal Small Pistol Match Primers were the same price as any other small pistol primer.

The only one they had in stock was the Federals.

The biggest difference is in quality control, both are small pistol primers.

Federal uses their most experienced employees to make Match primers. Other than that, there is no difference. Don't know about the other makers.

Great! thanks for the replys - by the way, the fun store has 1,000 less primers now than they had yesterday. =)

Only 1000 primers? What are you going to do for next weekends ammo? :p
