A couple of times a month, when I dont have any thing else to do, I go on my pawn shop run. This morning I hit about 5 or 6 shops and here's a pix of todays haul.

The top is a Pietta 1851 Navy in .44 cal. Missing the mainspring. The mainspring screw is there, but no mainspring. BU date code.

The middle one is also a Pietta. This one is an 1860 brass framed army in .44 cal. It's missing the barrel wedge. BF date code.

The bottom is an Armi San Marco 1848 Wells Fargo in .31 caliber, complete. BH date code.

Oddly, these all came from different shops.

Did you try switching the barrel on the Army onto the Navy model?

No, the thought never even crossed my mind. I got them at two different shops. I wonder if they would switch out though?
Myabe I'll give it a try later on.

They look very nice. I do wonder though, with the similarity of the guns and being from different shops in the same area, perhaps someone "found" a nice collection and decided to pawn them.

I dont think so Warhawk, I traveled about 40 miles to collect these. Being that I visit the shops regularly I see a lot of nice percussion revolvers. So it is not unusual to find them in similar condition and types. The 1851 I have been watching for a couple of months. I knew it was broken (missing mainspring) and gambled that at some time they would let me have it for a bargain. This shop also had 4 other percussion revovlers, one was a 2nd generation "C" series Colt's 2nd Dragoon with original box and never cocked. If I had the money I could probably buy 12-15 used percussion revolvers in a few hours.

We certainly don't have pawn shops like that around here. In my neck of the woods they sell newer handguns ,sometimes even marked OVER retail. A very good find, beautiful guns. I have considered getting one just to display.

I myself love to make the rounds of several pawn shops and gun stores. This is what followed me home today Pietta 1858 Buffalo 44cal. Going to see if I can find the shoulder stock for it. Even my wife likes this one

Walker thats a beaut. I've got 3 brass framed revolvers now. At one time I wouldn't give them a second look. But now I have 3 of 'em. They tend to grow on you. I love the patina on old brass. I know where there is a Spiller and Burr gathereing dust in a shop. Maybe I should have another look at that one.

Loosenock the pawn/gun store I was at today had two others I wanted, but I will be truthful was afraid to face wife with 3 new guns at one time. But I know where they are and as in the words of Arnold- I'll Be Back. Really like that 31 you have, think I could fit it in one of the display cases somehow.

Doc, I got the three for about the price of what one would cost new. I've already ready ordered the parts to put the .44's back in service from DGW, that will be another $15.

This is my second Wells Fargo .31. The other is a Uberti with steel frame. But like I mentioned earlier the brass framed revolvers are starting to grow on me.

Well,you inspired me.I never thought I'd find any here in Wichita,but I
brought home a pristine 1858 with an extra cylinder for $175 today.
I already had one but it's a brass frame.I thought 175 was more than
fair for the condition and then they told me about the extra cylinder.
I don't think anyone can really blame me.:)

Nice find Solly. I love to go pawn shop'n. You never know what your gonna find. The extra cylinders go for $70-$80 so you did real good.

I looked up that Spiller & Burr again but they're asking $300 for it and its a F.I.E. That one will collect dust for a long time.
