How can I improve the trigger on my SR 9?
It's rough, gritty and heavy.
I've got about 500 rounds through it so far.

also "Remove the mag safety (30 seconds or so) and it'll help a lot. Cut off about two rings on the back of the striker spring, and you'll be down between 3-4 lbs. at $0. " -steelharp

Remove the mag safety and either shoot it a ton or polish the internal trigger pieces. Ghost was working on aftermarket pieces, but I haven't heard an update on them in 6 months.

Cutting springs is a crap shoot. it will ease trigger pull but if you go too far, you will FTF.

Dont cut springs; its not worth the potential headache

just posting what I found. I had to put the stock striker spring back in my glock last night because I was getting light primer strikes with the wolff reduced power spring.

There were a lot of reports of trigger damage due to dry firing the SR-9 without a magazine in place.

Ruger warns SR9 owners to not dry-fire the pistol without the magazine in the gun. Without the magazine in place, the striker rubs on the mag safety, creating a harder, gritty trigger pull, and doing damage to the striker.

Removing the magazine safety now will not help if the damage has already been done.
