High Standard Pistol Question

Looking for some info. The extractor on my High Standard Mod. 107 broke while my wife was shooting., (I'm blaming her!:D:D) This happened once before about 25 years ago and I can't recall how I fixed it. The extractor is broken with a small piece still trapped by the plunger and spring. Can't figure how to get the broken piece out. Any help would be great.

You need to take a small flat-blade jewelers screwdriver or something similiar and compress the spring & plunger back in it's hole far enough to pick or shake the broken part out of the slot.

SUCCESS!! Holding the plunger out of the way while holding it upside down and tapping the slide with a plastic hammer in my third hand :D worked like a charm. Thanks for the help.
