Muzzle brake on a bull barrel?

Can it be done,savage ss model 12, (i like to look at what i'm shooting while i'm shooting it)..smith here in town sayz he can "drill" the holes in the end of the barrel...but i don't like the idea whats out there?

First off, what caliber, because on anything bigger than about a .223 or so, it doesn't matter - muzzle brake or no muzzle brake, you ain't gonna be able to keep the scope on the target during the recoil.

Secondly, is this a hunting gun, range gun, or what? Brakes don't belong on hunters.

22*250 and i hunt....i use the screw on "end cap" hunting on some of my rigs.. it worked on my last reg barreled gun.

Holy cow, somebody actually spelled it "brake" instead of "break". You get 5 points just for that man.
