...I was thinking of picking up a spare barrel...M4 barrel assy., Colt SOCOM, Chromed lined, 1-7 twist, 14.5 (with the perm. flashider making it 16.1".)

Seller states that the throat erosion is gaged at 5.25.

How bad is that? I mean, this will be for one of my 'rat grade' guns, SHTF or TEOTWAWKI... Red Dawn... zombie invasion... whatever you like. That type of weapon.. that sort of thing. I expect decent accuracy... as in... positive hits out to 300 yards.

Thoughts?

Sounds used to me.

You might find out the reason it's being sold is that it won't group anymore.

I'd probably get a new barrel unless the seller will take it back if it won't hold under 2MOA.
