You can do it yourself. Glocks are very easy to work on. I put a set of Trijicons on my Glock 19 by myself and it took less than five minutes.

If you don't have the proper rear sight pusher-tool, you may find it worth your while to pay somebody who does have the tool to do it for you.

Get a good zero for the existing sights, and make sure you install the new sights to the same windage position.

The best sights PERIOD I have used are the Ameriglo Operator sights. Mine have a green front and yellow rears. I also painted the front sight red. I really like this sight setup. I've never changed a Glock front sight so I can't help you there.

I like these from Dawson Precision. They also sell them with tritium lamps on the rear sight, but I like it simple. They also come with the tools to install. Definitely try to install them first and if it doesn't work out then take them to a gunsmith.

Yes you can do it yourself, you don't need the rear sight pushing tool. I used a carbon fiber drift pin to change mine. Worked great. I used Trijicon 3 dot sights. The replacement front sight has a small bolt that holds it in place. I used a little blue Loctite to help keep it from loosening.

I run the factory sights, and have no complaints. But ANY sight, whether factory or not, won't help unless you go to the range and practice.

get XS big dots or the standard dot and it should come with everything you need to install them yourself.

The sights are not very durable on a Glock. Have seen several officers have either the front or rear sight break or fall off. As soon as I got my duty Glock I put on some Heine (spelling?) metal sights. Very rugged.
