Pure curiosity here .. I know where some of you are but am interested to narrow that down a bit.... partly cos I hope to fix a Spring shoot round here ... and otherwise, just plain nosey!
No need to give away specifics but ... maybe either give your County or - even better .. your ''DeLorme'' map page number.
And if you think I'm being too nosey .. tell me to go jump in a lake (oh ... no maybe not ... summer's gone!):p

Well I'm just a curly hair south of Baltimore (or as the locals say "Bawlmer"), but I'd be interested in a South PA get-together. Heck I'm only 40 minutes from the Mason Dixon.....

Luzerne County huh? Where a politician eats a nail & ***** a corkscrew!:scrutiny:
Now here in Carbon, that`s an incorruptible county.:banghead:
The D.A. in Carbon has announced he`s received a grant to counter "gun violence". I foresee a Porsche or at least a luxury 4x4 in someone`s future!:what:

Great guys ... thx - and keep em coming! :)
Didn't even mention my location did I? I am Bedford County (fourth along the bottom .... starting from West .... which is Green County) and I am not over far from County Town of Bedford.
Be interesting to get max input here and see how many we have and where y'all are. If I can organize another shoot here for Spring, then could be we can drag some of you over!:p

Dinosaur.........gun violence in Carbon county??....lots of gang bangers running loose in downtown Jim Thorpe. :what: Just joking. Yes that grant does sound funny.
Question.........I,ve been told that there is a 500yd shooting range in your area. Is there any truth to this??
lycanthorpe....have you ever gone shooting at the quarry in Hillsville off rt 224?? I did once. It was on a weekday. On weekends there are just too many people around on bikes,quads....ect.

Frank....there's a 100-500yd covered firing point rifle range not far from Quakertown, maybe 4 miles off the turnpike exit. It's called Water and Wings.

Frank5,
Yes, I shot in a friends 30-30 at that quarry. I'm currently a member of Castlewood rod and gun club ( www.castlewoodclays.com ) and we have a 550 yard range so I usually use the club grounds now.

The state range is 10 minutes from me and is 300 yds. I`ve been told it`s the longest in N.E. Pa. Water & Wings is a nice private range without the stupid restrictions.
Seriously, I spoke to the local CoP about the grant. He told me it may be used for police firearms training which is woefully inadequate here. I hope they go for a county FATS system or something similar. I shoot with them where they qualify. :D Probably not gonna happen though.:(

Dino.....are you talking about the PGC range heading down towards Rt 209?? from Hazeleton/Beaver Meadows??
I haven't been to that range in few years but. If thats the one, PGC lists it at 400 yards.
I'm wanting to go there to see how my M1 Garand shoots at distances greater than 200 yards.

Steve, that`s the one. I only use it at 100. Everyone I know says 300 and I can`t recall if it`s marked. I can recheck easy enough as I`m very close.
If you ever go, lmk. The hunters are probably all over the place now though.

Cambria County, not too far from P95, and I have a 500yd range just 10 minutes from the house that allows anything short of mortar fire (too dang hard on the berms) :what: , and of course I can let a few rounds go right in the backyard as the yard ends at the foot of a very steep hillside, not too many though ~ don't wanna tick off the neighbors. I'm all for a spring shoot and may even pop a tent and make a weekend of it , gotta start taking more time to enjoy life. Case

I'm with him location wise.
Gus's Guy is out in Honeybrook in Chester County and I'm with him. :D
There is a range out by his house. If people are there shooting we can hear the shots at his house. Also we can shooot in his back yard, but if it were any more than Daddy, me, and him I think the owner would throw a fit. So I don't think I'll be inviting y'all over there anytime soon. ;)
PS the Water and Wings place is pretty nice. We had a shoot out there this summer. It was fun.
