Do you make "criscoe" based lube made with oil or shortening?

I've been experimenting with making my own over the ball lube.
Have you looked under the sticky Black Powder Essentials?
You should be able to find some help there.

Yes, I've read the sticky.
Gatofeo's recipe doesn't use criscoe. Made some of his but its rock hard in the low temps outside right now.
So thought I'd try something else.
Also read about a 50/50 beeswax/criscoe recipe. The criscoe type didn't say which form of criscoe.
Made some up just now a little heavier on the shortening so It will stay softer while cold.
I'll set the lube outside after it cools to see how it works.

I'm experimenting Crisco and beeswax also and mine were too hard too. So I kept adding a little Crisco until I got some lube pills that work ok although they are still a little tacky. But these will be seasonal and I'll be experimenting again when summer comes.:banghead:
I read somewhere that white lithium grease doesn't melt and run like Crisco. Now if I can determine if it's petrolium free I'll try it.
BTW I bought a syringe like yours from wally world (great idea) and I believe the lithium grease would work in it. What do you think?

Well.......scratch the 50/50 mix in the cold. Still too hard to use.
Went back and added some more criscoe to bring it to 25% beeswax/ 75% criscoe.
Cooling now.
Once it cools enough I'll place it outside long enough to see how it sets.
Somehow i think I may have to go to 100% in the cold.

I've never tried the lithium grease so can't really comment on it.

Try this: 50% Beewax, 40% Crisco (shortening), and 10% Virgin Olive Oil. It will still get fairly firm at lower temps, yet it will stay pliable. I use it on not only my muzzle stuffers but with my BPCR tuff too. The Olive oil keep it from getting solid.
