(WI) The usual hysteria

From the Minneapolis Star Tribune:
Opponents of conceal and carry, such as Rep. Mark Pocan, D-Madison, are just as passionate -- and just as mindful of Minnesota's precedent.
"Usually I think of Wisconsin and Minnesota as very responsible states," Pocan said. "We're hoping not to duplicate [Minnesota's] mistake.
"From looking at Minnesota and other states, we believe this will put 36,000 new guns on the streets of Wisconsin. There will be that many people walking around with guns in their coats and purses, after applying for this permit.
"If people are packing guns like cell phones, those guns will go off at the most inopportune times, like cell phones."
Okay, guys. Nobody call my gun -- I don't want it to hurt anybody.

It'll be interesting to see what happens in WI. The anti-gun bigots are going to try to repeal our law.
It's the same old stories again. Thing is, most Minnesotans are smart to this. According to the media, everyone is against CCW laws, but frankly, most people don't really care. Most everyone at least knows a gun owner and doesn't have a problem with it.
Yeah, it's the same old arguments. People are wising up to it.
Guns going off like cell phones? Geeze.

Well, wasn't Sam Colt's old jingle:
"Be not afraid of any man
No matter what your size.
When danger threatens, call on me
And I will equalize."
:neener: :p :D

No there won't. Anybody have stats on the percentage of CCW holders that actually carry routinely? I think it is really low. Probably less than 10%. So, using my math, I come up with another 3,600 people walking around with guns. Peanuts!!! Most people get a permit to avoid LEO hassles and because they can.

Sounds more like The Minneapolis Star Tribune dosen't want MN to have WI for company with CCW, than they're worried about WI.
Have the DFL'ers and other assorted whiners given up over there yet? :D
BTW, Doyle is purportedly going to veto the WI Personal Protection Act (SB214) tomorrow.

Wisconsin's air-brained leftist extremists should just sit down and shut up. There's no chance they'll be able to compete with Missouri's for the prize for loudest snivelling and whining.

It's the same old boo-hoo: Dodge City, blood in the streets, fender-benders at the OK Corral, yada-yada-yada. 36 states now have 'shall issue' CCW, and it [the blood bath] just hasn't happened. What has happened is that violent crime in CCW states tends to decline.
It's all part of 'the big lie' strategy, i.e. say it enough and it'll become 'the truth'.
SOS/DD, and we must continue to point this out at every opportunity.

I knew there was a reason I thought cell phones were evil!
