I am always on a lookout for new pistols in development, but have not kept up with my research lately. The ones I am interested in are Boberg and Microtech Archangel. Please feel free to share some information on any other new developments out there.

Colt is making a semi-automatic pistol.

The round is a .45, but shorter.

Not really new, but Springfield is expanding the XD(M) line, including a 3.8" barrel, supposedly a subcompact model, and hopefully adding .45 to the caliber lineup

"Colt is making a semi-automatic pistol."

Can't find much on it - is it another 1911 or are the moving into something different?

smirnoff a, I did a check with Microtech and their Archangle has been put on hold for now as they are focusing on developing a new rifle.:( Thus the Archangle has been pushed back untill the forth quarter of this year or maybe early 2011. This was a real let down as I have been wanting one for a while and have my FFL keeping an eye out for them when they ever get production going. LM

Boberg this year perhaps?

:banghead::banghead::banghead::D Yeah right! There is marketing and then there is hype. This was the biggest case of premature ejaculation in handgun history.

Heard from a rep at the shot show "We will be making a formal announcement on the XDM 45 sometime this year...."

so not sure what that means really........ :)

Looks like the love child of a CZ-75 and a 92FS

Some interesting prospects here. It is sad to hear about Archangel being put on the back burner. Zigana looks like a fun inexpensive range toy. Ibe been following Boberg threads for a while now and it is probably the most interesting, although not a revolutionary design. Most of other choices appear to be nothing truly new.

Check out the new Taurus 24/7 G2: http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=503252

It shares many Glock-like features (like trigger safety and slide dis-assembly lever), but has "double strike" trigger, ambidextrous safety/slide lock/mag release, exchangeable back strap (3 sizes), metal magazine/mag release and conventional land/groove rifling. The grip angle looks more like my PT145Pro which has a more "natural" point of aim (similar to 1911 grip angle).

Looks like Glock/M&P had a fling and had a baby! :D Would like to try one.

Looks like Kriss TDI is finally coming to market in 45ACP with 40S&W following.

What do you think?

Britton:
As many of you know we have a close working relationship with TDI, the manufactures of the KRISS weapon system. The carbine has been a big hit for us and the SBR continues to sell well. But many have asked for a pistol version, something that looks more like the SMG without all the NFA paperwork. Something also down the road and individual could fill out a form 1 and complete a SBR conversion.

I am still trying to verify the price. I called the CEO but he could not talk because they were on the range at the SHOT show. In an email he said MSRP was $1649.00, but I am not sure which barrel they are using for that price, the regular barrel or the heavier and threaded barrel. I'll be talking to him later today and should find out more details.

Yes, this is basically the pistol version of the KRISS Carbine. It takes Glock 21 mags, either 13 round mags or with extensions the 30 round mags and is chambered in 45ACP.

That Kriss pistol has got to be ungainly to fire one-handed. What's the weight?

Springfield .... XD(M) line .... hopefully adding .45 to the caliber lineup

I've heard more than enough times, that they simply will not be making a .45 XDm, that I'd say don't hold your breath for that one.

Then why do they keep hinting around that they will? Are they just toying with my heart?

I confirmed with a few reps at the booth and they assured me they are pursuing the .45 and will be making an announcement on the XDM45 this year...

I'm not saying it is guaranteed .....so take it for what you will.

I just handled the compact SR9 last night and I was impressed. It's the about the size of the Bersa Thunder9 UC or the Taurus 24/7. It was lighter in the hand and less top heavy than I thought it would be. I could see where this model could outsell the standard model soon.
