Anyone have experience with the Mossberg 590A1 "Tactical"?

I have a Benelli M1S90 for my house gun, but I'd like to get another shotgun for my office. I don't want to beat up the Benelli by knocking it over or doing other things I'm sure will happen.
I was looking at the Mossberg 590A1 Tactical (http://www.gunshopfinder.com/mossberg/mossberg_51670.asp). I like the idea of the collapsible stock, but my only experience with adjustable stocks on a shotgun was with a Spas 12 folder, and that one really hurt.
Has anyone here had any experience with this model, or any of the Mossberg shotguns with the adjustable stocks?
Thanks for any replies.

Hello Monkeyleg,
I have not had any experience with the collapsible stocks on the Mossbergs, but I did grow up with a Mossberg 500 and it is one of the shotguns I am most comfortable with, along with a A.H. Fox SxS.
One of the reasons I like Mossbergs and the SxSs is because of the tang safety which I have found is the best safety design, ergonomic-wise. The problem is that the utility of the tang safety is completely negated when combined with a pistol grip because it requires one to drastically shift their grip to actuate it. If you want a pistol grip, I would go with a Remington or Winchester which have the safety buttons on the trigger guard, thus putting the safety button within easy reach.
Just an FYI. If this is old news, I apologize.

I'll repeat what BJK stated, if you already considered the safty location, then please disregard.
Else, my 14" 590 and 18" 500 have both served me very well, but neither with a pistol grip. I do have Rem 870 that sports a Knoxx SecOps stock that is a joy to shoot.

I have that exact model.
It comes with a recoil pad and the angle of the stock and pistol grip makes recoil very manageable when shooting standard loads. I like it more than my other Mossberg, which has a full stock with no pistol grip. I usually keep the telescoping stock at the "5" position when shooting.
However, be advised that the stock, grip, and adapter themselves aren't of great quality - they came from an ATI kit. Personally, I'm switching in a Mesa Tactical stock adapter with Magpul furniture when mine finally breaks.

Go for the 870 as suggested if you want that style of stock.
