Greetings one and all!
I've been doing a lot of assessment of my wants and desires concerning rifle preferences and have determined that I lean towards big bore rifles in a hunting application. Not too long ago, I bought an in-line .50 to fullfill that big bore desire. However, I am beginning to think that I should have bought something in .45-70.
I have a question that, depending on the answers I receive, may help to alleviate any misgivings I have concerning the above-mentioned purchase. Are the ballistics of traditional .45-70 loadings similar to what one would expect from a .50?
