Interior decoration...

Okay - sometime in the spring, I'm probably gonna buy a house. With a basement, which will get real walls and stuff...

Bogie's Bunker is gonna expand!

Here's what I'm thinking... OD green entertainment center, or maybe paneling on one wall made from cartridge boxes. Speakers will be OD green, and stenciled with the proper designation.

Walls will be khaki, and trim will be OD. Carpet will be brown. One wall is going to be cabinets along the floor, about 10-12" out from the rear wall, and a short cabinet mounted up by the ceiling, with the space between filled with glass doors. Behind the glass go the old military rifles, black powder stuff, sharp pointy things, etc...

Haven't totally decided what to do for the ceiling or the bar area yet...

What do y'all think?

Don't forget to build in some secret compartments or rooms! :D

Nahh. Make it look like the inside of a pillbox or a sandbagged redoubt. If there's lots of guns and an alarm system (as well as laminated glass or shatterguard, bars, dog, etc. and sprinkler system), I'd go for the museum appearance. Gentleman-scholar or Soldier-scholar look.

Camo net on the ceiling?

Not sure about the ceiling... Since the room is going to be primarily a "home theater" room (the glass wall gun case is gonna be hand built, with some fairly heavy laminated glass - it'll cost me a few hundred... well, likely more than a few hundred... but it'll be cool. Was thinking of doing the back bar with some camoflage wallpaper or fabric...

Don't waste money on carpet. Use dirt. Designate part of the floor as a minefield.
Make furniture from sandbags.

Not gonna go that far - the Bunker has to be comfy... Surround sound, big screen, all the seats are gonna be wired with subsonic transducers, etc...

Might rig an "anteroom" so that the entrance looks like a "bunker" entrance....

I think if you're married, no way the wife is going for that.

I think if you're not married, no way the girlfriend is going for that.

:D :D :D

Naaah... as an ex-Navy type, I vote to paint the walls and ceiling battleship gray, and do the floors in non-slip rubberized paint. Put a quad 40mm. Bofors in the back corner, aimed at the ceiling. If bad guys break in, shoot 'em from below! :D

Build a new house. Then you can excavate the cellar deep - build a safe room under the basement and have it all. Don't forget the ventilation, water, refrigeration, waste disposal - and BIG steel fire-resistant door - and escape route.

Just think of the possibilities - might even have enough space for a pistol shootumup place.

Very

OTOH, I think of normal decor as the best "tactical camoulflage". ;)

Let's just say that the "expensive" toys are gonna be really hard to find. And harder to get at.

You guys are freaks.

I guess if it is your basement.

I let my wife do all the decoratin' although my computer nook is retro sci-fi - Godzilla poster, classic robot toys, etc.

To each his own :)
