Prosecutor's imagination now considered some sort of evidence. So incredibly, massively stupid I want to bash my head against a wall. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Edit to add: She did not implicate Dial in the death of her son for 19 months after their arrests, but blamed Dial for killing her son only after prosecutors offered not to seek the death penalty for her in exchange for her testimony against him, Udell said.
Sounds about as credible as the prosecutor's imagination

There is a HUGE amount of leniency in closing arguments. Creativity definitely comes in to play.

I'd say she was a h_ll of a DA! It's a miracle the judge allowed that kind of thing however.
The BG should fry IMHO.

I wonder who the "BG" really is in this case?

Closing arguments are just that, arguments. They're not evidence. I'm sure the judge included directions to that effect. That being said, the mother was just as culpable, if not more so.

Agree. Both should hang. It sickens me to think what that child must have gone through.

I still see manufacturing testimony as wrong. Even if it's during closing arguments, and the DA makes it clear it's a session of "let's pretend."

It's not testimony though. At this point, testimony has concluded and each attorney has the opportunity, one last time, to sway the jury to their point of view. Tons of leniency is required and closing arguments are typically visceral, emotional appeals.
