I wouldn't mind having this gun either. It is something different and would stand out in my collection of "evil black guns"....

The shiny .38 Supers used to be marketed to folks "South of the border" who weren't allowed military caliber 1911s. Colt has an entire line of limited-edition, super-shiny 1911s in .38 Super called the "EL" series.
