I am looking for a nice dummy proof cleaning kit. I would like one that can clean all guns, handguns, rifles, shotguns, etc. I am also looking for one that is dummy proof that everyhting is clearly labeled by caliber not bruch size or number so I don't screw up anything. Also needs to include solvent, lube, etc. And should have step by step instructions.

Anyone have any good kits that meet this criteria?

PS Seems everyone has a different process to clean their guns, so what's yours step by step?

Well, I can't think of any brushes that come marked with caliber right on them.

Personally, I think you need two kits, one for handguns & rifles, and one for shotguns.

Outers & Hoppes kits have been the industry standard for going on 100+ years so they will definitely get the job done with the least cash outlay.

My personal preference is for Kleen-Bore stuff.

Lots of folks like the Bore-Snakes.
I am not a big fan, because a rod & brush are necessary to handle chamber fouling in revolvers & center-fire rifles, as well as copper fouling in barrels.
You also simply must have a rod to remove bore obstructions of any kind.

And should have step by step instructions.
Gun cleaning is not rocket science.
You field strip the gun depending on what type of gun it is.
You clean the bore, clean the action, re-lube as necessary, and wipe the gun down with an oily rag when you get done.
Just like anything else that's dirty, you just clean the dirt off.

IMO: Unless you do gunsmith work in your spare time, or shoot some exotic form of competition, a .22 cleaning rod, bronze brushs in various calibers, .22 & .30 cal patches, rags, and an old toothbrush will handle 99% of your needs.

I think rcmodel covered it. To be really "dummy proof," you could pick-up a bottle of Breakfree CLP since it cleans, lubes and protects all with one bottle. Eezox is also another good choice.
