I am ready to part with my Winchester Mod 94 30 WCF (30-30) S/N 1454xxx mfg between 1943-1948 with flat sided barrel band.

Looking for estimates of its value. Condition is pretty good, including the often lost front sight hood, with blue all over but some usual signs of use. Tight action and shoots well.

Try going on www.gunsamerica.com and seeing what prices are being asked for pre-64 Model 94s.

I see them sell for 500 dollars. 550 seems fair.

a lot of ads on gunsamerica for "pre 64" guns but with serial number way after the 2,000000 reported to be the cutoff. hard to figure the real valuse when so many folks seem to be selling BS

The last Model 94 Winchester made in 1963 was s/n 2,586,000.

My pre-64 change over is serial numbereed 2587xxx and is identical to my 2247xxx from 57. It has all of the pre-64 features. It must not have been a clean cut between the old and newer models.

I just found a different source that dates the last s/n of 1963's model 94 at 2,600,011.

Owned it for 50 years or so. Sold it to a neighbor for $350. Figured I couldn’t get retail anywhere so I took the deal but kept the memories.

$600 is a good ballpark. If it is a rare pre-64 that has 95%+ bluing you could see as high as $800. Hang on to them, they will only increase in value. It is a highly desireable gun, they aren't making any more like that, and it is also a piece of collectible americana. Mine is 147XXXX, and the closest I could estimate it was 1946-47. They essentially stopped production between 1942-1945, so yours is probably either late 1941 or early 1946.
