Does anyone know if the Stevens 350 pump action is any good? It seems fairly cheap.

I believe it is made by Norinco in China and they also produce the Pardner Pump by NEF under the name of Hawk Industries.

It is a reproduction of the Ithachca model 37, which is a great shotgun.

I think Century was importing a version of the Model 37 Chinese clone a while back and they sold locally here for a while.

Folks seemed to like them and MAX100 may have the skinny on the Stevens.

The Chinese guns get alot of heat in this forum but the ones I've owned/ own/handled have been the cats paws.

I'm as interested as you are about the Stevens 350.:)

I believe they are made by Ithaca and are a model 37. No proof of this however. They do look identical. Plus, Norincos, and all other ChiCom firearms, are no longer allowed to be imported into the U.S.

As soon as they become available I plan to pick one up and try it out.

they got some kind of loop hole because chinese firearms are coming by the boatload, rebranded, hawks, iac, jing ling,pardner/pump,nef,i heard the savage/stevens is the chinese copy not the new ithica, the ithica would be a lot more money.look at the chinese stage coach guns, they sell like hot cakes.

Only Chinese handguns, ammo, and semi-autos are not importable. It is legal to import Chinese pump action and double barrel shotguns. Chinese shotguns are being imported by H&R/Remington, Cimmarron, EMF, Interstate, Century, and many others.

Dookie, they are not made by Ithaca. Ithaca makes shotguns that are among the best pump guns ever made. These are crude in comparison.

These are crude in comparison.

I use to sale the Chinese 37 Copies and I also owned one. So I have seen and handled many. They are far from being crude. In fact they were a heck of a deal for the money. I am hoping that the Stevens 350 quality is at least as good as the one use to own.

The 350 is new for 2010 and they aren't available yet. Should be in a couple of months.

They will retail at around $225

Hawk Ind makes the Pardner Pump & the Hawk 982.

It would be nice if the Stevens 350 shotguns are made by Hawk Ind. They make very good quality shotguns for the money.

Just got in a Stevens 350 HD with ghost ring sights. It's made by SUN CITY MACHINERY in the P.R.C.

Made of all steel head to toe
Nice fit & finish with a matte blue finish
Nice heavy duty stock
Recoil pad is hard
Very nice GRS with a green fiber optic front, LPA style but made of steel
Steel trigger guard assembly
Dual action bars
Sling stud front and rear
Action is smooth as silk like it's well broke in
Stock drop is just right
Stamped steel follower
Mag tube spring is weak & needs to be changed out
The last shell, 5th one, was hard to insert into the mag tube but got it in
Trigger is very heavy
Retail for one with GRS is $230-$250

It looks to be one heck of a deal, a step above the Hawk 982 shotguns and backed by Savage's excellent Warranty. It will post more on it with pictures as soon as I try it out.

Never heard of Sun City Machinery. Is this a real manufacturer or just another name that Norinco is operating under like Hawk?

I don't know how Norinco fits into things when it comes to China and firearms. Hawk Ind has been in business for about 55 years.

Sun City Machinery I haven't done any research on so I have no clue. I can tell you that the Stevens 350 seems to be a very well made shotgun and heck of deal. I fired a few shells through it today and it was flawless. The action is very slick. Weight wise, being made of all steel, it's on the heavy side but I like that.

Stevens 350 is great! I use it for trap shooting and action is smooth with no feeding problems. Fits like any other pump. It is a remake of a ithaca 37 with a better fitting stock. One round in the chamber 3 in the tube. I bought the field model and found a defender barrel included in the box.

I've had one a few months now. Cheapest pump at dunhams and I was on a tight budget. Finally shot some 1oz slugs today just to adjust sights to p.o.a, in which no adjustment was nessary, put four touching one flyer high left about 3/4"...not bad if ya can keep 'em inside a chew can area at 40 yards. Folks talkin' bout week mag springs but I haven't had any issue, by a finger comparison I don't feel the difference between it and ones on a Moss 500 or Win 1300 with absolutely no hang-ups or sticks. I think it's a killer piece for the money, and just as reliable as my chinese toaster lol. Bad ass sights! Good solid feel.

With my first kid on the way, we're on a tight budget right now. I want to pick up a pump gun for HD, I don't have one right now, and from the positive reviews I'm seeing of this model it looks like it may well be the ticket for me.

Carbuncle, I just picked one up from Cabelas over the weekend. It is the field/security combo. I only wanted the security, but the combo was all they had in stock. Used a coupon and paid 255 for it. I have not shot it yet, but I can say for the money, it seems like a solid investment. Everything is as it should be, and fit and finish seem average. Not the Chinese "junk" that a lot of people are expecting it to be. I say get one.

For the same money you can get a US made gun, why bother with a Chinese one you may or may not be able to get serviced down the road?

It amazes me how folks get fired-up over a two hundred and something dollar chinese shotgun but don't say nothin about all the Chinese parts in a Cadillac, and soon, the ones that'll be built there. As to their #1 argument, most of us on a day basis rely on something made in china, so trusting my life to a Chinese shotgun for the firefight, I'm never gonna be in, is okay with me. Geezz!! And you ain't gonna get a steel recievered shotgun with a barrel that locks up that good into it, that fires 1oz slugs as accurately, that's made in the U.S.A. for that money. Not a new one at least. God, people P me off!!! Lol

Parts support, regardless of the firearm's country of origin, doesn't persist forever.....even when they company remains in business. I have US made firearms (several Remingtons come to mind) that can't be serviced as they are no longer supported.

Aside from that, what US company is making a bottom eject pump shotgun for the price of this Stevens?
