Does anyone make them?.....I realize it's not very traditional but I would love a houge overmolded for a 1894 marlin in stainless

I think Ramline makes some, or they did. I remember seeing them in the Midway flyer and I think in the Cabelas catalog.

Here's the one from Ram-Line, Marlin 336 series lever type. They have one for Winchesters too. Don't know if it will fit an 1894 though.

Sounds like a sin to me, but might be good on a savage 99, if they made one.

Has anyone tried one of the Ramline stocks? I'm also thinking about using one with a stainless 336 for an all-weather jungle gun.

I put a Ramline stock on my 336. Also put the XS "Leverscout" mount and ghost ring sights on it.
The buttstock fit with no problems at all but the forearm required a little trimming to allow the band to fit in line with the notch in the barrel and magazine tube for the screw. A couple of minutes whittling with a box knife (after finally figuring out the problem :cuss: ) and it fits just fine.
I rather like the slim lines compared to the thick wooden stock.

Thank you for the response! It sounds great. Any pics? Does the stock feel like it is quality?

Sorry, no camera so no pics. I suppose I ought to put off my next gun purchase long enough to get a camera. ;)
It feels good, kind of changes the balance slightly toward the muzzle end due to the hollow nature of the stock. It originally had that line in the center that a lot of synthetic stocks seem to have, a thin spine of material that juts up and feels really sharp. I shaved that down with the box knife as well and then used a piece of fine grain (1000 grit?) sandpaper to smooth it out. Feels much better.

Yeah putting a synthetic stock on a nice levergun would be a sin... But then again it would give me an excuse to get another one!!!

we put a ramline set on a 94 ranger that had a mouse attack on the birch wood stock that was standard. I would say it was ok. I too had a little puttering to do to make it clean and nice. The ramline is not a High end composite, it is a sevicable replacement tho. Google it, I believe someone makes a high end composite for the 45.70 marlin. but i did not see it now.

With the high humidity in the summer where I live, alot of people put a synthitic stock on their truck guns

Wild West Guns offers fiberglass stock blanks for the Marlin. Not cheap ($259, unfinished, uninstalled) but very high quality.

MPI stocks makes some lever synthetics, but be prepared to spend A LOT of money for it.
