I sure like avatars for quick user ID. Why don't we have avatars here?

I was concerned about bandwidth, though it's probably not that big an issue.

Everyone else thought they cluttered up the look of the board, and in some cases (tacky choices0 could be detrimental to the cause of providing non-threatening info to people who aren't yet decided on gun rights issues.

The small text string at the top left of each post provides much the same function. ;)
