Goofing off this afternoon with some time to kill at the local shop, I found myself in the replacement grip area of the local big gun store. There on the shelf I spied it: Steadyhold

I've been looking for a bipod for my Savage 10fp that would make it a little easier to handle the heavy barrel - but I also take this rifle in the field some, and that would make it heavier yet. Looked like it might be a little unsteady from the design, but once its on the gun its suprisingly stable

This thing looks good and seems to act as advertised making it easier to handle the forend of the rifle. The steadyhold and my Claw sling make for a nice carrying combination on this rifle.

Anyone else try one of these?

Now that DOES look interesting! I think I'm going to have to buy one to try it out on my .30-30's. Thanks for the information!

Looks very comfortable. Not on the 30-30s though, because they wouldn't fit in the saddle scabbard:D
