What is a fair price for one of these NIB?

I paid $599 for one just this past Friday and I don't feel like I was had too badly. MSRP is $650, which is about what most of the gunstores around me were asking (some even more).

What about posting a review of the gun and a range report. I have been keeping an eye on the AR-180B for some time. There are other owners that posted their reviews, just want to see other peoples experiences with the 180B.

I know that, it's already saved on my computer. I'm asking reviews of people that actually owns and shoot the rifle on a regular basis. I wonder how it has been performing since their introduction to the market.

The design of this rifle interests me also, but I think that they made a large error of making the lower out of polymer. I have seen 3 different AR-180Bs that have cracked at the front pin. If you get one be very careful when you clean it because if it drops too fast you need a new rifle. While I like a lot of things (mostly weight and gas system) about the AR-180B I will not be getting one.

Regarding a range report, I haven't even shot it yet. It's supposed to be a Christmas gift (that *I* had to drive 200 miles to get :scrutiny: ).
Regarding the polymer lower, I'm not particularly concerned. From what I've been told, (and as I'm sure you know) the AR-180B design imposes much less stress on the lower than the AR10/15/etc. Further, the initial batch of AR-180Bs had defective lowers (polymer supplied by a contractor was substandard or something). There's a list of serial numbers available and the broken AR-180Bs you've seen may have been affected. Finally, as you say, if you're holding the rifle in such a way that the upper flops open when you dismantle it, you'll be putting some serious torquage (a technical term) or the polymer lower, and I imagine damage would be inevitable. I'd be interested to know if the damage to the AR-180Bs you referenced happen during firing or during dismantling.

Thanks for the input on what you guys think of the rifle. But what did you pay for it?

I said I paid $599 for it.
Unless you're asking someone else, although I believe I'm the only replier who's actually bought one...
Personally, I'd say anything less than retail ($650) would be a decent deal at this point.

Cortland I saw your price and was hoping someone else would also respond. The shop by me has one for $700 but I don't know if that is a model with a match trigger which retails for $750.

I bought the first AR-180B I saw in the state. The only one I've seen since either, come to think of it. Paid around $700 for it at a show here in Maryland six months ago.
So far it's been to the range only a couple of times. First time it shot three feet to the right at 50 yards, making me max out the windage to get it on paper. 6-8" groups no matter the ammo, though it did seem to like the heavier stuff better.
Second time I had the front sight aligned with barrel (was slanted first time out), and shot just left of center at 50 yards. Smaller groups, but this time it wouldn't cycle the bolt. I had to manually cock the thing after each shot.
Turns out the front post gas hole thingy wasn't aligned properly with the barrel gas port thingy so not enough gas was getting to the tappet-piston thingy to unlock the bolt.
<sigh>
So, I'll keep trying to get it right. I like the rifle, it's light and handy. Hardly recoils at all, and runs cleaner than a standard AR. (OK, that may not really be true, the crud's just in a different place. The tappet that fits into the piston gets FILTHY. So much so that I had to soak the thing in cleaner for an hour to get the crud off. But hey, at least it's a small enough part that I CAN soak it in a bottle of cleaner.)
Never felt the match trigger, mines good but not great.
Need. More. Range. Time!@#$%^*&!!!
