Been playing with drawing patterns for a holster for my 1858 Buffalo. Did the basic GOOGLE search but have not come up with anything that will do the revolver justice. Anyone have one or suggestion for this. Remember that this is the one with the 12" barrel.

Remember ''Outlaw Josey Wales''? the last four inches of barrel stuck out the bottom of his holsters. If youd rather protect the barrel and front sight, add four inches to your favorite Tandy Leather holster pattern, Or unstich a cheap holster you don't care about, lay it out flat, add four inches to the bottom of that, and presto, you're done.

Good start is the Tandy Holster Pattern book. If you dont see anything you like it will give you hints to design & make your own. Find one you like, then consider how YOU want it to angle, hang & what side. Make a couple of patterns out of the brown paper sacks. Cut the pattern out & staple it together to try to get a good visual on it & pretty soon you will have your sidekicks wanting to know where they can get one.
Good Luck which ever way you go & have fun doing it.

Try leatherworker.net , they have a section of their forum dedicated to holsters. There are tutorials on making Slimjim holsters, and other types, too.

Thanks Shotgun will check them out. Started cutting and sewing on one that is kinda almost in the neighbor hood of what I want but never know they might have just what the doctor ordered.
