Has anyone ever tested the .38 special+P Federal Hi-Shok (not Hydra-Shok)125 gr. JHP for expansion and/or penetration from 2" and/or 4" barrels?

I have not tested it under all conditions but I did use it as a carry load in both my S&W 642s. From the snubbie it was rather anemic at about 700fps IIRC. I found only slight deformation of the bullet in wet newsprint. I have since switched to CorBons 125+p @1125fps from a 4" and appr. 950fps from the 642s.

700--Hmm, it "should" do like 800.

Why? Federal lists it @ 950 from a 4" test barrel. From a 1 7/8" it has always been in the 700fps range for me.
