I have this Canadian Winchester 12 gauge single barrel shotgun. It has been a nice shotgun, today I took it out to try a load that I got from a distributor of components, pulled the trigger and the barrel jumped off the receiver.
The barrel lug was still in the receiver and the barrel was laying on the ground. I look this over and it appears that the lug was silver soldered on to the barrel. There are no makes from forging or welder that I could find. Plus the area where the lug was attached is silver in color, but it isn't the metal from the barrel.
I have found one exploded view on the net, and no other information other that some of the same shot guns are for sale on the net. I know these were made in Canada from 61 to 65.
Any one have eny ideas on to fix this? I was thinking of TIGing the lug back on. Any one have a manual or the armors type of book on this shotgun.
Thanks,
Jerry
