HI,

I am new here and really new to guns, well most guns I am pretty intimate with my nova pump during duck season, but it is only a took that helps me work my dogs.

Any way I am an avid archery hunter and I don't have a "hunting" rifle. I think I am sold on a 308 but not sure which one to buy. I did have a ruger 7 mag with the skeleton stock and it was a nice gun, but I am sure there are other options out there. I would like Stainless steel with either a wood or a laminate stock. Any help and advise would be good, thanks for all your help.

What kind of terrain / game you going to hunt. Max shot distance . Field ? Thick woods. ? All those would effect my decision .

From what you have said I think this fits the bill. I don't own one personally but heard lots of good stuff.
