Filling flasks

I don't know if anyone else does it this way but it works for me. When I fill a flask, I use a small funnel. I remove the spout on the flask, Hold the lever back to open the spout port, insert the funnel into the created orfice and pour powder in from a small glass. The small glass that I use equals the volume of the flask so I dont overfill. Works for me.

Depends on the flask if i use the cylindrical flask. the bottom of the flask will unscrew so i can pour from the can to the flask. Now i have 3 of those Brasss type of flask. Now the OE type of flask that do not have those types. I remove the spout like you do. Then i use the cylindrical flask to fill up the round type of flask.

I make a paper cone to pour the powder through the spout. Yes, it's mickey mouse (with apologies to Walt Disney), but it works for me.

The .44 caliber revolver flasks such as the Colt and Remington accomidate a threaded brass funnel that fits in place after the spout is removed. Wish the others had a similar feature.:banghead:

yep,I got my Brass filler funnel/spout,and don't see how I lived without it.My arthritic fingers just can't handle the home rolled paper funnel while juggling with the flask and it's lever anymore. That lil' brass funnel thingy is a Godsend.Good for filling up .54 paper cartidges, too.

I use a plastic pour spout that screws on the top of of a powder can. Take the spot off of the flask & stick the plastic spout tip in the opening & let it fill.

I just ordered the threaded funnel from the Possible Shop. It will fit both the Colt and smaller Remington flasks.
