This is my 12 ga. 1956 Ithaca Model 37 riot gun all dressed up.

Barrel cut to 18.5" with brass bead installed
Original ringtail pump handle.
12.75" LOP to end of Galazan sunburst pad.
Stock was purchased online for $25 and came with hand checkering and an ivory grip cap.
Spent hours sanding and refinishing the stock and the ivory

I know its overdone for a riot gun, but I like it

That's boss, daddy-o, real boss. If I may offer an opinion, and please don't let it detract, but isn't the checkered stock a bit incongruous with the corncob forearm?

Pre-WWII and shortly thereafter Ithaca's came with checkered forearms and checkered grips.

This Ithaca came from the factory with a smooth grip and the ringtail forearm. 14" LOP.

I wanted to get a shorter LOP without cutting the original stock so I bought this stock online from someone who wanted a longer stock (Isn't the free market great!).

I actually like the checkering in case I should get into a sweaty situation.

Note, at page 200 of Walt Snyder's book on the the Ithaca 37, there is a picture of a 1981 LAPD model with a corncob forearm and impressed checkering on the grip.

Cop guns are often mixmasters, just like .mil guns. However, that doesn't bother me much. I'm not a fan of the ivory, though, but it doesn't stop me from admiring the gun. I like the 37, and I think less is more. That looks very nice indeed.

Ivory came with the short stock.

Here is the original full length stock (refinished by me) that I did not want to cut, and a picture of the high tech optics:
