How to add flashlight to 97 Norinco trench gun?

Has anyone figured out how to do this right? I'm not interested in the crappy picattiny weld job offered by IMA:

I've got no experience with this model but perhaps you could take a bayonet and modify it to hold a flashlight. Or some other way to take advantage of the bayonet lug.

Good idea. I thought of that as well. Most bayonets start around $65 so chopping one up is not my first choice, but it may end up to be the best option. Thanks for the suggestion Zhyla!
