Folks, join me in welcoming Mal H and Dr. Rob as new Rifle Country Moderators! Kaylee is going to float around and Art is going over to L&P for a while, but I'm sure we'll still see him post here just as much.
Mal and Rob, ya'll make yourselves comfortable!

Thank you very much, Steve. I look forward to working with you in this new, to me, venue. 'Course, I've been here regularly, but not in a moderator sense. Hope to be more of a help than a hindrance. :D

Hey..I heard that in order to become a moderator you had to run 2 miles in under 14 minutes, 42 push ups in under 2 minutes and 55 sit ups in under 2 minutes! Oh..and something about chickens and tar in the initiation ceremony.... :D
Seriously though...welcome Gentlemen! Looking forward to you censoring my posts in the near future! :D

Good one RedLeg. That gave me a laugh. Does Art's Grandma's rule still apply?

I probably have the saltiest language of anyone here, and if I can make Art's Grammaw happy, we all can. Yes, her rule is still in effect. :)

Hi Steve,
I have found you keep pretty much in control,,,although there was that one rambling on the other board...lol...just kidding. Part of the reason I am over here more often and not there.

Well its good to have a home, rather than be a floating mod. Some of you might remember me from the rifle forum at TFL. Feels comfy here.

Shush, if we are quiet maybe Mike Irwin won't find Mal H over here...:)

Thanks for the welcome!
re1973 - Well, it wasn't a promotion, more like a lateral. But Oleg did say we would get a 25% raise with the move. Not bad, eh?
[lessee - 25% times my current salary is ... ... it's ... ... Nothing!
Hey Oleg!!!]

To keep firearm related [ ya know how mods are] ;)
IF
1) you had rec'd a raise
-or-
2) Oleg passes out THR credit cards [ it could happen]
What would you guys buy? What have you a hankering for?

Thanks Mike!
Translation for those who don't know Mike: he called me one of the solid anchors of THR. ;)
He's still sore about my putting all 5 shots from his 042 in one hole at 10 yds. :D
And so it begins...

Of course, that hole WAS the open end of a 55 gallon drum...
But still, one hole!
That's also drag line, not anchor line, Mal. :D

Welcome in, guys (as long as Mal isn't short for Malcontent) and hopefully he didn't used to work for the Post Office, and what kind of Dr.? My bro is almost a Dr., he's a crackerpractor, bonecrusher, realignment forcer, etc. Anyway, I've always said I like this forum for the high class humor (yes Sunray, HUMOR) and serious discussions, not like some of the others that get a bit risque for my grand-daughter to look at. Thanks Grandma. I look forward to continued association with this forum that has taught me so much, and provided links to many other tutorials and resources. It is a good thing we all have going here. Things I have learned so far:
How to disassamble a SAR-1 bolt. (AND, more importantly, how to correctly re-assemble it)
Where to find a una piece bolt assembly for a Mosin Nagant.
How to strip and refinish stocks and other rifle furniture.
Where to buy, (and which ones) recoil buffers for my SAR-1.
How to correct trigger slap.
A whole slew of DA things NOT to do at the range!
Many many more things I can't think of right now.:)

Its a long story but the title is honorary, a nickname I picked up in High School some 18 years ago...
You sort of had to be there.
Anyway, people still call me "Doctor Rob". I'm an art director and entertainment writer by trade.

I think he means you help us steer a straight course in stormy weather, Mal. Isn't it great to have such good buddies around?

Welcome, new Mods. You are the ones that keep this place from degenerating into AR-15.COM. And we appreciate it.
