Trigger shoe for the 1911?

I've been saving up to have a new barrel bushin fitted to my 1911, and I thought about having a new, longer trigger installed while I was at it.
I came across this thing, though, and I wondered what to think of it:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Flaig-Ace-Trigger-Shoe-23-for-Colt-1911-and-Clones_W0QQitemZ330403822725QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item4ced9a3c85
Is it just a quick, half butt fix, or a viable thing?

Used a trigger shoe on my 1903A4. They work. Flaig is apparently no longer in business though. Go here. http://www.t-grips.com/TriggerShoeHomepage1.html
Wouldn't buy anything from an E-Bay seller. E-Bay financially supports the people who don't think you should be allowed to own any firearm.

Trigger shoes were very popular back about 1950's & 60's.
They have since fallen from grace, as they increase the chance of snagging the trigger on a holster while re-holstering, etc.
The other problem you will have on a 1911 with a nice trigger pull is doubling.
The added weight of a steel trigger shoe increases the mass of the trigger, making it bounce against the sear during recoil and firing the gun again, or dropping the hammer to the intercept notch.
That will rather quickly destroy the sear & hammer hook edges.
That is why all long match triggers are solid aluminum, skeletonized aluminum, or plastic.
Too decrease the weight and prevent trigger bounce induced doubling.
Fogadaboutit!
BTW: I have one on my 1903-A3 too, and yes, they work.
But it ain't a 1911!

Ah, I'll just have the pistolsmith decide what to do with the trigger, then. :)
Thanks for the info yet again, RC.
