I am new to reloading and am ready to hit the range in the morning with my first 4 loads. I just need a few affirmations that I am in the right ballpark here. After much reading and research this is what I have come up with (and loaded): IDP #5 180 tcfp, IDP #2 170 swc, Precision moly 170 rnf and Laser-cast 180 tc. All loads are filled with cci #500 sp primers and 6.0 grains of Power Pistol to an OAL of 1.125-1.130. I have checked them in a case gage and also using the barrel (removed) of my pistol. The Laser -cast feel just a tad "sticky" when I turn the barrel upside down to remove them. Could this just be the lubricant? I will be shooting them out of my XD 40 sc with a 3" barrel. Does everything sound sane? I respect the collective knowledge of those more experienced than myself!

Everything seems safe except the 170's might seem under charged.

I think that they should not feel a little "sticky" going in or out of the barrel. Do they do the same going in or out of a case gage? If anything they would likely be sticky in the gage but not the barrel.

Make sure your pistol is going into battery each time. It doesn't take much stickiness to keep it from locking up, as I found out.

I'm not a total newbie to handloading anymore, but am still new to .40. I am waiting for a chance to shoot my second batch of .40 loads. This is the thread that resulted from my first batch:
